Our Production Process
Pre Planting (September - March)
Ahead of our potato crop, we plant a cover crop to help to ensure we keep something living in the soil over the long, dark winter months. This plays a vital role in reducing soil erosion, improving soil health and biodiversity.

Crop Husbandry (April - August)
We collaborate with specialist advisers throughout the growing season to ensure our crops receive exactly what they need, when they need it—whether it’s irrigation water or fertiliser. This approach enables us to produce the top-quality potatoes we all enjoy while also minimising our environmental impact.

Grading & Storage (September - July)
Our potatoes are initially graded in the field on the harvester before being loaded directly into boxes. They are then transported to the farmyard and placed into storage. Once out of storage, the potatoes are graded again to ensure top-quality produce in every bag

Planting (March - April)
We plant our potatoes using a direct potato planter, which allows us to plant tubers directly into cultivated land. This system helps us significantly reduce fuel usage and carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 160kg of CO2e per hectare compared to conventional planting methods. This translates to a savings of 3.2kg of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2e) for every tonne of potatoes we produce!

Harvesting (August - October)
We harvest all our potatoes from late summer through until the end of October. Harvesting involves lifting potatoes with our self-propelled harvester, before carting to the farmyard for storage.

Bagging & Delivery
Once graded, our potatoes are weighed into 25kg bags using an automated weigher and stitcher, then loaded onto pallets ready for delivery. From there, we deliver the potatoes directly from our store to your door.
